Norwegian authorities are investigating unusual betting activity on Polymarket ahead of the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize announcement. A user known as "dirtycup" turned a $70,000 wager into over $30,000 in profits, sparking concerns about potential insider information leaks. The bets heavily favored María Corina Machado hours before the official reveal.

Three accounts collectively generated approximately $90,000 in gains from Machado-related contracts. The concentrated nature of these bets—particularly dirtycup's $68,117 single-position wager—has intensified speculation about market manipulation. Polymarket operates under a CFTC no-action letter permitting event contracts without additional regulatory filings.
